The Spark of Change: Estate Planning Rooted in Faith, Family, and Legacy

Starting my post-graduate career in Philadelphia, I was drawn to work that prioritized people over paperwork. Whether in nonprofit roles or during my training in alternative dispute resolution, I came to see that legal support should be more than just documents—it should empower people to clarify their needs and move toward what truly matters.

From early on, I realized I wasn’t the typical lawyer. Serenity at Law was born from a desire to redefine how we engage with the law—with compassion, dignity, and purpose.

My commitment to estate planning has roots deeper than my legal career. In 2008, I lost my father—a loss that shaped my understanding of mortality, family, and the weight of unfinished plans. At the time, I was still forming my path in life, but that experience stayed with me. It taught me that even when death feels far away, its impact is immediate and lasting. It planted the seed for the work I do now: helping others prepare for life’s inevitable transitions with clarity and care.

Years later, as I pursued law and worked alongside underserved communities, I came to see how estate planning could be a powerful tool—not only for legal clarity but for upholding spiritual, family-centered, and charitable values.

Estate Planning That Honors Our Values

I’m particularly passionate about helping my Muslim brothers and sisters ensure that their estate plans reflect Islamic principles. Whether that means honoring the obligations of inheritance under Sharia, protecting the rights of spouses and children, or supporting ongoing sadaqah jariyah (charity that continues to benefit others), estate planning becomes more than a legal task—it becomes a form of worship and responsibility.

But this work isn’t only for Muslims. At Serenity at Law, I welcome anyone who wants to plan with intention. My approach is inclusive, culturally sensitive, and centered on what matters most to each individual or family I serve.

Planning for the Inevitable, With Purpose

Planning ahead doesn’t mean expecting the worst—it means caring deeply about the people and values you’ll leave behind. Whether you’re a new parent thinking about guardianship, a professional building a legacy, or someone feeling unsure of where to start, you’re not alone.

I’m here to guide—not to dictate. Together, we can build a plan that aligns with your faith, honors your culture, and protects your loved ones.

Because planning for death is really about living with intention—with clarity, confidence, and peace.
