Serving Pennsylvania Clients and Beyond
Legal estate planning for Pennsylvanian and “death-positive” end of life planning support anywhere, designed around your values, your family, and your business.
The Foundation of Every Plan
Wills
A will is the foundation of any estate plan. Without one, Pennsylvania’s intestacy laws — not you — determine what happens to your assets and who cares for your children. I draft personalized, legally sound wills that clearly articulate your wishes for asset distribution, minor guardianship, and the appointment of an executor to carry out your intentions.
Control, Privacy, Protection
Trusts
A trust can offer greater control, privacy, and protection than a will alone — and in many cases, helps your loved ones avoid the time and expense of probate. I establish revocable living trusts, irrevocable trusts, and specialized trusts tailored to your family structure, asset profile, and long-term goals.
Faith-Aligned Estate Planning
Sharia-Compliant Planning
For Muslim clients, I offer estate plans — utilizing both trusts and wills — that honor faraid (Islamic inheritance law) and accommodate wassiyah (discretionary bequests of up to one-third of the estate). A standard American will does not automatically apply Islamic principles; without intentional planning, Pennsylvania’s default laws will govern distribution. I bridge Islamic obligation and U.S. legal requirements so your estate reflects your faith.
When You Cannot Speak for Yourself
Powers of Attorney & Advance Healthcare Directives
A power of attorney designates someone you trust to make decisions on your behalf if you become incapacitated. I draft durable financial powers of attorney and healthcare powers of attorney, ensuring the right person has the legal authority to act when it matters most.
An advance directive documents your wishes regarding medical treatment — including end-of-life care — for situations where you are unable to speak for yourself. This document gives your loved ones and medical providers clear guidance and protects your autonomy even when you cannot advocate for yourself.
Protecting the Next Generation
Minor Children Guardianship & Protection Plans
For parents, naming a guardian is one of the most critical decisions in any estate plan. I work with you to designate trusted guardians for your minor children and structure protections for any inheritance they may receive, ensuring their care and financial security are provided for on your terms.
Small Business Succession Planning is coming soon: for business owners, an estate plan without a succession strategy is incomplete. This service will address ownership transfer, buy-sell agreements, and continuity planning.
Supportive Services
Mediation, Circle Keeping & Death Doula Work
Estate planning and end-of-life decisions often surface longstanding family tensions. As a trained and certified mediator, I facilitate structured, neutral conversations to help families reach agreements before conflict escalates or litigation becomes necessary.
A circle is a structured, intentional gathering rooted in restorative justice — bringing family and community together to discuss end-of-life plans, process grief, and navigate the emotional and practical realities of dying.
As a death doula, I offer non-medical, holistic companionship through the end-of-life process — advance care planning, legacy work, vigil preparation, and early grief support.
The Part Your Loved Ones Will Return To Most
Legacy Documentation & Reflection Work
A will tells the law what to do with your assets. This work tells your loved ones who you were.
Through guided reflection exercises, contemplative practices, and personal prompts, I support clients in capturing what no legal document can — your values, your stories, your voice, and your love. This may include ethical wills and legacy letters, life story documentation, and guided meditations on what it means to have lived and what you hope to leave behind.
This work can stand alone or complement your legal planning — and is meaningful at any stage of life, not only for those facing illness or the end.
Not Sure Where to Start?
Speaking, Education & Free Consultations
One of the most important things I can do as an attorney is demystify this work — making estate planning accessible and less daunting. Presentations include “Estate Planning 101”, “Islamic Estate Planning”, and “On the Remembrance of Death: Living Fully by Facing the End.”
Most clients come to me knowing they need something but unsure of exactly what. That’s what the free consultation is for — we’ll talk through your situation and identify the right combination of services for where you are right now.
